INTERNATIONAL PRODUCT SAFETY NEWS (IPSN), founded in 1988, is the newsletter for those involved in International Product Safety Compliance of electrical products. Subscribers include the safety agencies, product safety consultants and product safety professionals around the world.
IPSN is a six-times-a-year updating service, which features news, information, interviews and resources concerning Safety Agency approvals such as UL, CSA, the NRTLs, VDE, and TUV. It delivers timely and accurate information FIRST! IPSN serves as a focus point and forum for those involved in this dynamic discipline.
Regular features include Shorts, EC2000 & Beyond and What In the World (an introduction to new marks and lesser known agencies). Irregular features include TechNotes and a Question & Answer column.
THE PUBLISHER- IPSN is published by Product Safety International (PSI), P.O. Box 1561W, Middletown CT, 06457-8061 U.S.A., a product safety consulting firm. Founded in 1984, PSI specializes in expediting product safety approvals for manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment. Experiences gained in this activity are passed along to IPSN’s readers.
THE EDITOR- Arthur E. Michael, the editor of IPSN, has more than 25 years of experience as a product safety consultant. His seminars on product safety compliance have been presented in the U.K., Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, and the U.S.A. Mr. Michael is active in professional activities as well; he is a Life Member of the IEEE, has been the President (4 times) of the Northeast Product Safety Society, Inc., located in the Boston area. He is also a Charter Member of IEEE’s Product Safety Engineering Society, and Webmaster of the Safety Link, the web’s most comprehensive collection of electrical product safety and standards resources (see link below).
